I sat down with Liz our very own “Superwoman“ to reminisce on the last 11 years here at DCM Compliance. Liz is our Office Manager which she dedicates her work and time to all at DCM Compliance.
Liz, briefly describe your role.
My role in DCM Compliance is multi facilitated and involves the day to day running of a very busy office/reception. I liaise with the different departments and managers whilst answering busy phone lines, answering emails, doing accounts and filling orders from clients.
Describe briefly your typical day at DCM Compliance.
Mainly running a busy reception and liaising with staff and managers, there’s never a dull moment.
What is your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part of the job is how different each day is. The diversity amongst each department is interesting and I am lucky enough to be involved in all areas of the business.
Being with DCM Compliance for 11 years, you’ve seen first-hand the growth and success of the company. Does a particular event stand out to you over the last 11 years?
Firstly, how has it been 11 years? There are many highlights from my time spent here in DCM Compliance. If I had to pick just one, it would be the acquisition by Eco-Online in 2018. This is by far the biggest and most exciting experience for me in my 11 years with the company. It has given me great satisfaction to observe the company’s growth since I joined in 2007 with 4 staff (two of whom are directors) to 35 staff members in July 2018 with continuous growth on the horizon.
Do you remember your first day? How did it go?
I remember my first day with great fondness with Maggie my colleague and Dermot the director as my office colleague and mentor. Being introduced to the work that lay in store for me I can remember being apprehensive and excited by joining a new company. However back then I could never have foreseen how the company has expanded and grown so rapidly.
As DCM compliance has grown, so have you. Is there any particular moment which you are most proud of?
I am most proud of how I have grown as a person and how I have grown into my role as a manager.
What do you like most about working in DCM Compliance?
I have a simple answer to this: My wonderful colleagues who are now lifelong friends.
Who do you believe influenced your career the most to date?
My family have influenced my career to date, I have a very strong supportive partner and three wonderful girls that have always given me my can-do attitude. I also attribute that confidence and belief to the two directors Henry and Dermot who have always had fantastic confidence and belief in me and pushed me forward when I questioned my ability.
Here at DCM Compliance we are growing rapidly. Have you any key advice that you would give to future employees?
Always speak up and ask for an opportunity to progress. There is an old saying and a very true saying ‘’what is for you will not pass you’’.
Finally, how best would you describe working in DCM Compliance?
The best thing about working in DCM Compliance is the general vibe of the company and the ability for everyone including the directors to just pull their sleeves up and get stuck in, a big part of being able to do your job in DCM Compliance is the support you get from your fellow colleagues.
Everyone here in DCM Compliance and Chemdoc would like to take this opportunity to thank Liz and congratulate her on this great achievement.
